5 DAYS SAMBURU RESERVE, LAKE NAKURU NP AND LAKE NAIVASHA SAFARI

This 5 Day safari package gives you a true nature, wildlife and cultural safari experience. The safari begins with a drive north of Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve where you will spend two days exploring the rugged and semi desert Samburu Park which is bird haven with numerous wildlife. It then proceeds to Lake Nakuru National Park; a well-known Rhino Sanctuary and bird paradise for a day then head to spend your night near Lake Elementaita; one of the Rift Valley Lakes and finally to Lake Naivasha- a beautiful freshwater lake, fringed by thick papyrus, yellow acacias, hippos frolicking in the shallows and the cacophony of twittering birds, creates a lasting impression. Your stay is in well selected, simple, clean and pocket friendly accommodations.

DAY ONE: Nairobi- Samburu Reserve

Get picked up from your hotel in Nairobi by our representative. Drive North of Nairobi to Samburu National reserve (6hrs drive). Arrive to lodge in time for your lunch. Afternoon siesta followed by evening game drive in the reserve. Samburu Game Reserve is a rugged and semi-desert park located in Samburu district in the Rift Valley Province of Kenya. The park neighbors the homes of the Samburu tribe of Kenya, a tribe known for their remote culture, pastoral and nomadic way of life. Besides the numerous wildlife found in this game reserve, the park is also a bird haven. The reserve is reach in wildlife with fame for abundance in rare northern specialist species such as the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx. The reserve is also popular with a lot of elephants. Large predators such as the Lion, Leopard and Cheetah are an important attraction. Return to camp for dinner and Overnight.

DAY TWO: Explore Samburu

Wake up to an hour guided morning nature walk after which you will return for a relaxed morning breakfast and then a drive to one of the villages for a mid-morning cultural encounter with the Samburu tribe. The Samburu are known for their many unique cultural practices and traditions. Some of these originate from their nomadic way of life. Return to camp for lunch (you may also opt to carry picnic lunch boxes in the morning for a full day experience). Afternoon siesta and an evening game drive. Return to camp for dinner and Overnight.

DAY THREE: Lake Nakuru

Morning breakfast at Leisure followed by 6 hrs. drive to Nakuru. Arrive for lunch at camp/ lodge after which you will head out into Lake Nakuru national park for a game drive. The scenery of Lake Nakuru NP is breathtaking. The Rift Valley escarpment, dotted with euphorbia trees, rises up from the lakeshore. The park’s main feature is a large, shallow lake supporting great birdlife, including big flocks of pelicans and variable flocks of flamingos. With the exception of elephants, black and white rhino have bred to healthy populations. White Rhino are usually easy to see on the lakeshore. Rothschild Giraffe, buffalo and hippos are numerous as well. Luckily you may see lions and leopard, but not often encountered. After exploring, you will then return to lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY FOUR: Lake Naivasha

Leisurely Morning breakfast followed by an hour drive to the close by Lake Naivasha. Lake Naivasha is one of the truly astonishing examples of aquatic beauty. One of the most famous freshwater lakes in Kenya for its amazing jaw-dropping gorgeous scenery. The lake is home to hippos, exotic birds, and wetland flora, while its fresh water draws all manner of grazers, including zebras, giraffes, and buffalo. Arrive for an hour boat ride tour around the lake after which you will cruise to Crescent Island Game sanctuary for a guide walking safari in the middle of Lake Naivasha. With zebras, giraffe, buffalo, and a wide range of birds (no predators in the sanctuary). Lunch at one of the lake hotels followed by an afternoon tour at Hell's gate lying south of Lake Naivasha. it is known for its wide variety of wildlife and for its scenery. This includes the Fischer's Tower and Central Tower columns and Hell's Gate Gorge. You may opt to explore the back on foot or on bicycle (cycling safari). Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY FIVE: Nairobi

Being the final day of your safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast after which you will check-out for a 2 hour drive back to Nairobi. An opt of souvenir shopping in Karen, farewell lunch at Talisman hotel followed by drop off at your hotel, residence or place of choice within Nairobi
