2 DAYS LAKE MBURO SAFARI

Lake Mburo national park, consists of 260 sq. km of grassland, wetland, and acacia woodland habitat. At the center of the park lies Lake Mburo which, along with 14 other lakes in the area, forms part of an extensive wetland system. Lake Mburo National Park is home to several animal species including topi, eland, klipspringer, zebra, buffalo, oribi, sitatunga, leopard and a variety of water and acacia savannah bird species such as the marabou stork, bronze tailed starling, and Uganda’s national bird, the beautiful grey crowned crane. Your stay at Lake Mburo will provide opportunities to experience the park’s vast wildlife in a variety of settings including morning and afternoon game drives, guided walks, and boat rides around the lake. There is also the option of exploring the park on horseback and foot.

DAY ONE

After breakfast, meet up with your private Agasaro Safari guide and drive approx. 4-5hours to Lake Mburo National Park in south-western Uganda, have a stop over enroute at the Uganda Equator for a quick coffee break and photo opportunity at the 0 degree latitude. Proceed to Lake Mburo National Game Park. Check in to the lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely boat cruise on beautiful Lake Mburo. The lake, in the center of the park, provides an opportunity to see vast numbers of birds, large groups of hippos, and crocodiles basking on the shore. Cruise through the lake’s swamps, perfect hiding places for elusive species of birds, including the rare shoebill stork, one of the world’s most endangered bird species.

DAY TWO

After an early breakfast,embark on a bike ride/game drive (in company of a game ranger) where you may have the chance of viewing the grazers like the Zebras, bush bucks, elands, Impalas, grazing local cattle and a vast number of birds. Visit the salt lick area where a number of animals gather to enjoy the salty taste of soil. Return to the lodge for lunch and then check out and drive back to Kampala/Entebbe arriving in the late evening.
