Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali Arrival & City Tour

  • Land in Kigali; enjoy a guided city tour including the Genocide Memorial. 

Day 2–3: Akagera National Park – Big Five Safari & Lake Safari

  • Drive to Akagera; two days of game drives and a boat cruise on Lake Ihema

Day 4: Nyungwe Forest – Scenic Drive & Canopy Walk

  • Transfer to Nyungwe through Rwanda’s hills; afternoon Canopy Walk through the treetops

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trek & Tea Plantation Visit

  • Early morning chimpanzee trek; visit a local tea estate for a cultural and aromatic experience.

Day 6: Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Musanze

  • Track golden monkeys in Nyungwe; later drive to Musanze near Volcanoes NP

Day 7: Gorilla Trek & Batwa Cultural Festival

  • Embark on a life-changing gorilla trek; afternoon cultural encounter with the Batwa pygmy community.

Day 8: Lake Kivu – Transfer & Leisure

  • Drive to Gisenyi; relax on the shores of Lake Kivu or enjoy an optional sunset boat ride

Day 9: Canoe Ride & Spa Experience

  • Morning canoe safari; optional massage/spa therapy session in a lakeside setting.

Day 10: Return to Kigali & Departure

  • Transfer to Kigali; drop-off at airport or hotel for onward travel.
