This 10-day driving safari offers guests an opportunity to visit Kidepo National Park and Murchison Falls National Park.Driving from Entebbe to Kidepo offers the chance to see Uganda's changing landscape by road. Staying 3 nights in the Kidepo area overlooking amazing views of Uganda’s stunning savannahs and diverse wild life. 3 nights in Murchison allows for plenty of time to enjoy Murchison and its activities it has to offer, such as boat cruises and fishing on the river Nile. This itinerary also allows for a trekking experience with one of our closest relatives the chimpanzee.A luxury, guided safari portraying some of the best bits that Uganda has to offer.
You will be met your personal Agasaro guide and vehicle and drive through rural Uganda to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for your rhino trekking experience, approximately 3-4 hours’ drive . Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary offers a close up encounter with the only rhinos in Uganda. The sanctuary provides trained rangers who will ably guide you to observe the rhinos at a very close and safe distance. After rhino trekking continue to Chobe Safari Lodge, for your overnight stay, approx. 2-3 hours.

After breakfast drive to Kidepo National Park, approximately 6 - 7 hours. This park, located on the Southern Sudan border in the farthest corner of Uganda’s Karamojong District, is one of Africa’s most magnificent wild habitats. Big game favorites such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, elands, hartebeests, lions, hyenas, and cheetahs can all be found in this park. Africa’s largest single heard of cape buffalos roam the rolling grasslands that extend in all directions out to the distant mountain ranges. Kidepo is also home to some of Uganda’s more rare and elusive animals such as the aardwolf, bat eared fox, striped hyena, and ostrich. This remote park provides visitors with a chance to get off the beaten track and enjoy the solitude of one of Africa’s most wild places.Time permitting, afternoon game drives through the savannah plains of the Narus and Kidepo River Valleys.

Morning nature walk and afternoon game drives in Kidepo Valley National Park. Rich with wildlife including cheetahs, lions, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, ostriches and elephants and hundreds of other mammal and bird species. This difficult to reach park, located in the far northeast part of Uganda, is best known for its abundance of predators, making it a spectacular place to find animals hard to spot elsewhere in the country. The vast panoramic views of Kidepo are truly spectacular and will give you a true sense of being in the wild, open savannah.

Drive to Murchison Fall National Park approximately 6 -7 hours.This is Uganda’s largest national park, named for the dramatic Murchison Falls where the Nile, the world’s longest river, explodes violently through a narrow cliff in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 40 meters below. The Nile River is home to one of Africa’s highest hippo and crocodile populations as well as a dazzling array of water birds, including the rare and elusive shoebill stork. The lush borassus grassland to the north of the river offers frequent sightings of elephants, buffalos, giraffes, a wide variety of antelopes and sometimes even an encounter with lions or leopard. Rabongo Forest in the southeast part of the park provides a lush tropical habitat for chimpanzees, monkeys and many other rainforest species.

Following breakfast at the lodge, set out into Budongo Forest Reserve to join your team and begin your chimpanzee trekking experience. This semi deciduous rain forest, which lies within Murchison Falls National Park, boasts the largest mahogany forest in East Africa. You will assist Budongo’s trackers in their daily habituation research and activities including “de-nesting” the chimps, following them through the forest, and recording their behaviors and movements throughout the day. Finish the day off at sundown when the chimpanzees retire to their new nests for the night. This lifetime experience will allow you within meters of these amusing and very social apes, sharing in their daily lives and experiencing their day-to-day activities. Chimpanzees, our closest cousins, are extremely endangered with only an estimated 5000 remaining in Uganda. You will also have the opportunity to observe the many other animal species living in Budongo’s diverse habitat including black and white colobus monkeys, baboons and hundreds of native bird species. After lunch embark on a four hour waterfalls and sundowner cruise from park headquarters to the head of Fajao Gorge at the base of Murchison Falls - Here is where the force of the mighty Nile River narrows to flow through a seven meter gap, cascading down a forty meter cliff to the vast gorge below. Large resident populations of hippos float in the water along the way, groups of crocodiles bask on the shore, and herds of elephant, buffalos and other antelope can be seen moving along the riverbanks searching for food. The river offers a spectacular opportunity for bird watchers, with a wide range of water birds and vibrant bee eaters nesting in the cliffs along the river’s banks.Drift along the Nile while the sun sets with a cold beverage and light snacks.
Morning half-day fishing excursion on the River Nile, home to one of the world’s largest freshwater fish, the Nile perch. Sport Fishing at Murchison Falls National Park is conducted in the area at the base of the falls, using a catch and release method. The fishing is either from the rocks on the bank of the river or slightly lower downstream in the pools from a boat. You will be accompanied by highly skilled guides and professional equipment, to ensure both client safety in this adventurous destination, and the best opportunity for successful fishing. Patience, along with a cooler of beverages and light refreshments, are all you’ll need to enjoy this angling adventure. All of our boats are well maintained with safety equipment, raingear and all necessary supplies on board at all times.In the afternoon drive to the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park, an area rich in wildlife including lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, oribi, hartebeest, and countless reptiles and birds, including one of the park’s more difficult species to spot, the rare shoebill stork. Crocodiles are also plentiful in this park.

Depart Murchison Falls National Park and drive to Entebbe, approx. 6-7 hours. En-route visit to the top of the falls.Embark on a short hike to the top of Murchison Falls where the force of the mighty Nile River narrows to flow through a seven meter gap, cascading down a forty meter cliff to the vast gorge below. The power of the falls and the scenic views from the top are breath taking. Walk along the top of the falls and feel the spray of the water and bask in the cool mist around you. Enjoy lunch enroute at Kabalega diners.

Day at leisure, vehicle at your disposal for sightseeing and shopping.In the afternoon enjoy a sunset cruise in the waters of beautiful Lake Victoria to visit the Equator Island. Depart late afternoon and travel out towards the equator and the lake’s many local islands as fishermen cast their nets. Share a glass of soft drinks or beer and light hor d’ouvres with your party as you watch the sun set over the horizon.Transfer to Entebbe International Airport to connect to your international flight out.
